Job description
Senior SSO Engineer
We are seeking a senior SSO Engineer for a globally‑diverse IAM team focused on Authentication, Single Sign‑On (SSO), and Multi‑Factor Authentication (MFA). Candidates must have extensive experience with the PingFederate product, OpenID Connect and SAML protocols, and CI/CD automation tools. The role requires a self‑starter who is familiar with all technical aspects of large scale deployment and will work closely with the operations team to troubleshoot issues and deploy solutions in production and non‑production environments. Responsibilities will include engineering, installation, configuration, and maintenance of the PingFederate solution across all environments. Effective communication with application teams and addressing their concerns is crucial to success.
Job Responsibilities
Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
Develops secure high‑quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes‑oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading‑edge technologies
Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience
Direct experience in the Identity & Access Management domain
Direct engineering experience with Ping Identity products to include PingFederate & PingAccess
Strong understanding of OpenID Connect, OAuth, and SAML protocols
Strong understanding of API security
Hands‑on experience with UNIX and Windows environments
Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages – Java, C/C++
Expertise in application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security
Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., security, cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
Practical cloud native experience – AWS and/or GCP
