Location: Portland, OR | Schedule: Full-time, Remote
Overview
A company behind a simulation software platform is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to provide technical leadership across its core subsystems. This role will guide architectural decisions, champion modern engineering practices, and safeguard the long-term health of the codebase, operating with significant autonomy as a trusted domain expert.
What you'll do
Provide technical leadership across core subsystems of a simulation software platform
Guide architectural decisions for the platform
Champion modern engineering practices across the team
Lead the delivery of complex features
Safeguard the long-term health and quality of the codebase
Operate with significant autonomy as a trusted technical expert
Apply ML techniques to simulation problems
Required qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
5+ years of experience in desktop software development
Proficiency in modern C++ (C++14 or later)
Experience developing Windows applications with Visual Studio (2019 or later)
Familiarity with Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC) for Windows UI development
Experience with object serialization and structured data formats (e.g., XML, JSON)
Experience applying ML to simulation
Preferred qualifications
Background in simulation software development is ideal
