Job description
Why a veterinarian should consider the Rogue Valley (not just the job)
When we talk to vets about joining Grants Pass Community Veterinary Clinic, the conversation always ends up somewhere unexpected: not the schedule, not the benefits, but the place itself.
Here's what you're actually signing up for:
The Rogue River is your backyard, not your vacation. Mild four-season climate, world-class steelhead and salmon fishing, whitewater rafting, and the kind of outdoor access people usually plan trips around.
The Oregon Coast is a short, gorgeous drive away. Grants Pass sits as a gateway to the coast — think an afternoon drive instead of a whole vacation to get there.
A real small-town economy that hasn't been hollowed out. Historic downtown, local wineries and taprooms, farm stands, lavender fields, agritourism — Josephine County still runs on independent businesses, not chains.
Genuinely livable infrastructure. Quality schools, solid medical services, and reasonable transportation — the practical stuff that makes relocating with a family or a partner easy instead of a leap of faith.
Community that shows up. 40 years of free Concerts in the Park. A Chamber of Commerce that's been backing local business for a century. Neighbors who know your name.
And professionally? You'd be joining a brand-new, independently owned practice built specifically to give medicine back to the people who practice it — not a roll-up, not a corporate scorecard. Just good medicine, a supportive team, and room to actually build something.
And the pet owners here notice. In a town this size, people want a veterinarian in their backyard — someone they'll run into at the farmers market, not a call center three time zones away. That kind of trust is rare, and it's exactly the relationship we're building GPCVC around.
If "small town with big river energy" sounds more like home than another metro area with another consolidated hospital chain, let's talk.
