Job description

Benefits

nLeasing Consultant (Leasing Agent)

nProvidence at McDowell | Phoenix, Arizona

nFull-Time, Hourly (Non-Exempt) + Commission | On-Site

nAbout the Role

nWe're looking for a Leasing Consultant who genuinely likes people and likes to win. You'll be the first face a prospect sees and the reason many of them sign — giving tours, following up on leads, closing applications, and keeping current residents happy enough to renew.

nThis is a sales role wrapped in hospitality. If you can hold a conversation, keep your follow-up organized, and get satisfaction out of hitting a number, you'll do well here.

nWhat You'll Do

nLeasing & Sales

n• Greet walk-ins, answer calls and internet leads, and schedule appointments

n• Tour models, available units, and amenities; match prospects to the right floor plan

n• Follow up on every lead until it closes or dies — phone, text, and email

n• Process applications: income and credit screening, verification, and approvals

n• Prepare and execute lease documents, addenda, and renewal agreements

n• Maintain accurate guest cards, traffic logs, and conversion data in the property management system

n• Hit individual weekly leasing, closing-ratio, and follow-up goals

nMarketing & Outreach

n• Conduct competitor market surveys and report on pricing, specials, and concessions

n• Contribute photos, video, and content for social media and listing sites

n• Support outreach to local employers, referral partners, and neighborhood businesses

n• Help plan and staff resident events and leasing promotions

n• Keep models, the tour path, and the leasing office show-ready every day

nResident Relations & Retention

n• Welcome new residents and complete move-in orientations and paperwork

n• Run renewal outreach and lease-expiration follow-up

n• Take service requests, route them to maintenance, and follow up to confirm resolution

n• Assist with resident communications, packages, and general office coverage

nOperations Support

n• Walk vacant units for market-ready condition before showings

n• Note curb appeal, safety, and maintenance issues while walking the property

n• Assist with renewals paperwork, notices, and file maintenance in compliance with Fair Housing law

n• Support the office team with general administrative tasks as needed

nWhat You Bring

nRequired

n• High school diploma or equivalent

n• 1+ year in sales, leasing, hospitality, retail, restaurants, or another customer-facing role

n• Comfortable asking for the sale and following up persistently without being pushy

n• Strong written and verbal communication; professional phone and email presence

n• Basic computer skills (email, calendars, Microsoft Office or Google Workspace)

n• Availability to work Saturdays and occasional evenings during peak leasing season

n• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

nPreferred

n• Prior multifamily leasing experience

n• Working knowledge of Yardi, Entrata, RealPage, or comparable property management software

n• Familiarity with Fair Housing requirements and the Arizona Residential Landlord and Tenant Act

n• Bilingual (English/Spanish)

nNo Arizona real estate license is required for on-site leasing employees.

nWhat Success Looks Like

n• Closing ratio — you convert tours to applications at or above the property goal

n• Follow-up discipline — no lead sits in the system untouched

n• Occupancy — you treat the vacancy report as your scoreboard

n• Renewals — residents know you by name and want to stay

nPhysical Requirements

nMust be able to walk the property and tour units multiple times daily, including stairs; operate a golf cart; occasionally lift up to 25 lbs; sit or stand for extended periods; and work outdoors in Phoenix summer heat during tours and outreach events.

nCompensation & Benefits

n• Competitive hourly rate

n• Per-lease commissions and renewal bonuses

n• Monthly or quarterly leasing performance bonus

n• Housing discount (if applicable)

n• Medical, dental, and vision insurance

n• 401(k) with company match

n• Paid time off and holidays

n• Paid training and a clear path to Assistant Community Manager
