nLeasing Specialist / Agent – Affordable Housing | Plainfield, NJ

nSalary: $21.00 - $23.00 | Full Time | Monday–Friday | 40hrs

nWhat You Bring as a Leasing Specialist

nYou bring warmth, attention to detail, and professionalism to every interaction:

nnn2+ years of apartment leasing experience preferred.

n

nn1 year experience with affordable housing programs (LIHTC, HUD-Section 8, HOME, RD) required.

n

nnFamiliarity with Fair Housing and compliance requirements.

n

nnProficiency in Yardi or similar property management software.

n

nnStrong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.

n

nnBasic math and data-entry abilities for rent collection and recordkeeping.

n

nnBilingual (Spanish/English) skills are a plus.

n

nnHigh school diploma or GED required; COS or TCS certification desired or willingness to obtain.

nnDrive occupancy – market available units, respond to inquiries, and manage leasing applications and renewals.

nnEnsure compliance – process applications and recertifications accurately under LIHTC, HUD, or other affordable housing programs.

nnDeliver exceptional service – assist residents with rent collection, service requests, and community communications.

n

nnSupport teamwork – collaborate with maintenance and office staff to maintain high standards for property appearance and safety.

n

nnStay organized – manage reports, filing, and data entry to keep operations running smoothly.

nRequirements

nWork schedules may include Saturdays, based on property performance needs such as occupancy levels, leasing activity, and rent collections.

nWhen required, weekend coverage will be scheduled on a rotating basis and aligned with business priorities.

nEmployees are expected to support leasing efforts, resident engagement, and rent collection activities during scheduled weekend hours.

nWork schedules are subject to change based on business needs and property performance.
