Description
The Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University ofHouston is seeking applicants for a full-time, non-tenure-track,Lecturer position. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and, as appropriate, graduate courses in biomedicalengineering based on departmental instructional needs. Potential teaching areas may include foundational biomedicalengineering courses, laboratory courses, engineering design, and courses within the department’s specialized curricular areas. Courses may be offered in multiple formats, including face-to-face,hybrid, and online instruction. Additional responsibilities may include developing coursematerials, assessing student learning, supporting laboratory or design-based instruction, mentoring students, and participating indepartmental service activities.
Qualifications
An earned Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related engineering or scientific field is required. Candidates should demonstrate the academic preparation and subject-matter expertise necessary to teach courses assigned by the Department of BiomedicalEngineering. Previous college-level teaching experience is preferred.
Employees are expected to have a home address in the state of Texas for the duration of their appointments.
Official transcripts are required for a faculty appointment and will be requested upon selection of the final candidates.
