About The Opportunity
The University of Canberra is recruiting for an enthusiastic and committed academic to join our occupational therapy team as a Education Focus (EF) or Education Research (ER) lecturer. This is an exciting opportunity to make an impactful and meaningful contribution to teaching, scholarship, and research within a growing and highly regarded health discipline.
As part of our collaborative academic team, this position plays a key role in delivering high-quality learning experiences across our Bachelor and Master of Occupational Therapy programs. This is a great opportunity to shape curriculum, drive teaching innovation, and develop a research profile aligned with the priorities of the Occupational Therapy discipline.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and deliver occupational therapy units.
Lead innovative teaching practices.
Prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, workshops, practical classes, and seminars.
Design, develop and review curriculum and learning materials.
Assess student performance and provide high-quality feedback.
Support student learning and supervise Honours and Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students (ER).
Develop and contribute to a collaborative research program (ER).
About You
Registration as an occupational therapist with AHPRA.
Significant clinical experience as an occupational therapist.
Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and student-centred learning.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse student cohorts.
For Education Research Role
PhD (or progress towards completion)
An emerging or established research profile relevant to occupational therapy (for the research focused role option).
Additional Qualities That Would Be Highly Regarded Include
Experience working with children and young people and/ or with within the disability sector
Previous teaching, course coordination or supervision experience in higher education.
