The law firm of Mirkin & Gordon provides legal services programs to members of labor unions in New York City and the greater New York area.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site position located at our new office in New Hyde Park, NY.
The Legal Assistant/Paralegal will be responsible for providing assistance and support to the firm's attorneys, preparing and filing legal documents, responding to telephone calls, e-mails and other communications from clients, attorneys and courts in a timely and courteous manner, organizing and maintaining electronic and paper files, scheduling appointments and helping to maintain the firm's busy calendar. The position requires a high degree of organization, professionalism and care, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and timely.
Salary Range - $55,000 to $75,000 commensurate with experience
Qualifications
2 to 4 years prior experience as a Legal Assistant/Paralegal working in any of the following areas - civil litigation, landlord tenant, wills and estates, residential real estate or matrimonial and family law
Strong communication, writing and interpersonal skills
Organizational and multitasking abilities
High attention to detail and ability to work within deadlines
Proficiency in relevant office software and legal management tools; experience working with Clio case management applications a plus
Knowledge of New York State Courts electronic filing system also a plus
