Legal Practice Assistant – Litigation
Location: 100% Remote in San Diego
Salary: $85,000 – $105,000 annually

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Legal Practice Assistant with a strong litigation backgroundto support attorneys at a prominent law firm. This fully remote opportunity is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who can independently manage complex litigation assignments, court filings, and demanding deadlines.
Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of litigation experience, including substantial litigation experience. Experience supporting public agencies is highly desirable, and familiarity with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive administrative and litigation support to attorneys and paralegals.
Prepare, format, proofread, and finalize pleadings, motions, discovery documents, correspondence, and other legal materials.
Coordinate electronic filings in California state and federal courts, ensuring compliance with applicable rules and deadlines.
Manage complex litigation calendars, court deadlines, hearings, and trial preparation.
Assist with organizing trial exhibits, case files, and litigation materials.
Research and retrieve public agency records, meeting agendas, and supporting documentation from government websites and platforms such as Granicus.
Coordinate document filings with state and county clerks as needed.
Maintain organized electronic files and assist with new client and matter intake procedures.
Support multiple attorneys while managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
MINIMUM 5 YEARS OF LITIGATION EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.
Strong litigation experience is required, including California state and federal court procedures.
Demonstrated experience with complex litigation, court filings, and trial preparation is essential.
Experience supporting public agencies or government-related legal matters is strongly preferred.
Familiarity with CEQA is a plus but not required.
Excellent calendaring, document formatting, proofreading, and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and iManage or comparable document management systems.
Ability to work independently, anticipate attorney needs, and meet strict deadlines.
Strong communication skills and a commitment to providing exceptional client service.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
