Why Join This TeamUnder general supervision, performs moderately difficult processing of legal and organizational documents while verifying member information and ensuring compliance with both governmental and internal regulations. Follows and complies with UNFCU policies and procedures, and performs related duties as assigned.This position is hybrid.NYC Salary Range - $55,130 - $60,000 annually; compensation is commensurate to geographic location.What You'll DoRegardless of seniority or role, uphold UNFCU's mission, core values, and guiding principles by providing an exceptional service experience to colleagues and members alike through consistent demonstration of our service excellence behaviorsReview communications for deceased memberships and ensure timely responsesEvaluate documents and apply risk-based analysis to determine validityReview tax documents and apply risk-based analysis processPerform due diligence as required by state laws for yearly escheatment; organize funds transfer to state agencies for final payoutVerify member's taxpayer status by mailing certification forms and ensure that member records are up to datePerform additional responsibilities as assignedEnsure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations and UNFCU's Code of Ethics & Business ConductWhat We're SeekingHigh School Diploma2 years of experience in legal documentation processing (tax certification, restraining notices, tax levies, death/estate claims and unclaimed funds) in a banking or related environmentStrong knowledge of U.S. and non-U.S. taxpayer status, legal/tax documentation, and regulations related to confidentiality and disclosureProficient in legal processing best practices with strong computer skills, including MS OfficeStrong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectivelyFlexible and adaptable, capable of handling a variety of work responsibilitiesAble to interpret documents, make sound decisions within authority, and build relationships across all levels of the organizationWhat Makes You Stand OutHighly detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills and the ability to adapt to changing situationsSolid expertise of U.S. and non-U.S. taxpayer status, legal/tax documentation, and confidentiality/disclosure regulationsUnderstanding of legal processing best practices and techniquesWho We AreUNFCU is a global not-for-profit financial institution that serves the UN community.
