Lending Processor (On-Site)Beavercreek, OH, USA17.04 per hourHourlyFull TimePTO, Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Short Term Disability, 401k and moreUniversal 1 Credit UnionPosition Title: Lending ProcessorDepartment: LendingSalary Grade: 6 (non-exempt)Status: Non-exemptPosition Reports to: Chief Lending OfficerPositions Supervised: NonePosition PurposeResponsible for providing back-office lending processing and support effectively and professionally. Gathers data and completes material such as reports, agreements, letters, and required government forms and documents accurately and promptly to ensure regulatory compliance on accounts. Is responsible for providing a high quality of member service to ensure Credit Union established goals are being met. Is aligned with and promotes U1 values.Essential Functions and Basic DutiesUpholds U1 ValuesTrustworthyFocuses on compliance and security by following regulations and U1 Procedures.Understands NCUA insurance.Follow directions.FriendlyEffective and professional relationships with members and all levels of employees.Supports and mentors U1 employees.ReliableMeet deadlines and respond promptly.Other projects/tasks assigned.Reports to work as scheduled.Assists with training.Products/Services SupportUnderstand all lending products/services offered by U1.Handles various reports.Coordinate and process loans and ensure each loan is promptly and properly prepared, documented, processed, approved, closed, disbursed, and retained.Assists in servicing loans by processing payoffs, refinances, and contact updates.Maintains escrow accounts, processes and pays property taxes and homeowners insurance.Assumes responsibility for follow-up on still pending titles and appraisals.Comply with policies, procedures, and meet federal and state regulations.Prepares miscellaneous correspondence and records including mortgage payoffs and releases.Performs overall quality control for lending.Supports loan area as needed.Meets production goals and expectations.Member ServiceEffectively and professionally assists members and U1 employees by the following:Collect information/data.Assists with research and resolution.Secures and answers questions.Reports results to members, employees, vendors, appropriate team members and/or leadership.Utilizes all channels of communication such as in person, phone calls, emails, or other electronic tools while maintaining a positive and professional U1 image.QualificationsEducation/Certification:High school diploma or equivalent.Loan training and certification are preferred.College degree in business related area or an equivalent combination of work experience and training preferred.Experience Required:1 year related experience or lending experience required.Previous processing experience in the mortgage field preferred.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Well-organized with strong attention to detailExcellent communication, service, attention to detail, and people skillsAbility to professionally interact with other members, vendors, departments and personnelAbility to multi-task amongst projectsStrong analytical and financial skillsKnowledge of mortgage related requirements, procedures, and underwriting criteriaUnderstanding of lending procedures and mortgage loan processing functionsKnowledge of Microsoft Office word processing and spreadsheet applicationsWork Environment/Physical ActivitiesWork Environment:The work environment described here is representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level is usually moderate and typical of those in a typical office or call center.Physical and Intellectual Demands:Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Ability to compute discount, interest, profit, and loss; commission markup and selling price; ratio and proportion and percentage. Able to perform simple algebra. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions and to deal with sometimes complex problems. Ability to communicate in complex sentences, using normal word order with present and past tenses, and using good vocabulary. Ability to read a variety of job-related print and electronic materials. Ability to prepare memos, reports, and essays using proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar.
