Blaster PositionRogers Group, Inc., headquartered in Nashville, is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating in 12 states with over 3,500 employees. RGI, established in 1908, has the distinction of being recognized as the largest privately held aggregate producer in the United States.Rogers Group is currently seeking a Blaster to conduct the daily blasting operations at our Gallatin Quarry and Underground Mine in Gallatin, TN. The candidate will be responsible for the daily loading, transportation, storage and security of all aspects of the underground mine blasting process.Job Details:Full TimeDay ShiftLocation: Gallatin, TNWages start at $23.00/hr.Overtime available and extensive medical and retirement benefitsJob Responsibilities:The candidate will be responsible for the daily loading, transportation, storage and security of all aspects of the underground mine blasting process.The person will also be responsible for keeping and maintaining the daily and monthly blasting reports for all explosive materials.They will also be required to assist in mine management of the drilling and shot layout process to include shot timing and fragmentation analysis.Qualifications:Uncompromising focus on safety excellenceUnderground Blaster Handler's CardAlcohol, Tobacco and Firearms complianceDemonstrated ability to safely perform all essential functions of this positionTwo (2) years minimum of blasting experience in a quarry or mining environmentTwo (2) years of underground mining experience preferredProven safe work record with belief and value seen in courageous leadership modelGood attendance recordAbility to be an integral team member in a growing, fast-paced environmentProven record with full cycle mining including, but not limited to drilling, blasting, haulage and ground supportCandidate must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.It is the policy of Rogers Group, Inc. to recruit, hire, and promote individuals based on demonstrated merit and qualifications.
