Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor

| LCDC II / LCDC III / LICDC | Correctional | Long-Term Assignment

Contract Details

Location:

Lima, OH

Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment

Setting: Correctional Healthcare

Position: Correctional Program Coordinator - Substance Use Disorder Counselor

Schedule:

7:30 AM - 3:30 PM

One late shift per week required: 12:15 PM - 8:15 PM

Late-shift day will be determined after starting the assignment.

Hours: 32 Hours Per Week

Candidate Requirements

Candidates must hold one of the following Ohio credentials:

• Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor II (LCDC II)

• Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor III (LCDC III)

• Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC)

• Previous experience working with individuals with substance use disorders preferred

• Correctional, behavioral health, treatment, or related experience preferred

• Strong communication, counseling, and documentation skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team

• Ability to maintain professional boundaries in a structured correctional environment

• Ability to work the assigned daytime schedule and one late shift per week

• Ability to pass required background screening and facility onboarding requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide substance use disorder counseling services within a correctional healthcare setting

• Conduct assessments and identify substance use and treatment needs

• Develop and implement appropriate treatment and recovery plans

• Provide individual and/or group counseling services

• Monitor participant progress and make appropriate recommendations

• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation

• Coordinate treatment services with healthcare and behavioral health professionals

• Provide education related to substance use, recovery, relapse prevention, and available resources

• Assist with program coordination and implementation of substance use disorder services

• Maintain professional boundaries and follow facility security procedures

• Follow all applicable facility policies, clinical standards, and correctional healthcare protocols
