Work Environment
This full-time position operates in a remote work facility, although you may occasionally engage directly with facility staff and inmates. The scheduling will include weekends and evenings as needed to accommodate the demands of the correctional environment. Key Responsibilities
Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments to evaluate inmates' mental health concerns, identifying individual strengths and treatment needs.
Provide both individual and group therapy sessions, focusing on various critical issues such as substance use disorders, trauma recovery, anger management, and strategies for successful reentry into society.
Develop and implement personalized treatment plans using evidence-based therapeutic modalities tailored to each client's specific needs.
Facilitate therapeutic group sessions that cover vital skills like relapse prevention, anger management, and effective life skills.
Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary treatment team to ensure cohesive and effective treatment approaches for each inmate.
Deliver crisis intervention services promptly, including conducting risk assessments and safety planning to address emergencies within the correctional setting.
Maintain precise and confidential documentation while adhering to established ethical and legal standards of practice.
Work with correctional staff to foster a safe and supportive environment conducive to rehabilitation.
Patient Population / Client Focus
This position caters specifically to incarcerated individuals within a correctional facility, focusing on their unique mental health and psychosocial needs. As a Mental Health Counselor, you will play an integral role in addressing the complexities associated with mental health disorders and navigating the challenges of the correctional system.
Qualifications
A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited program.
Active state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is required.
Proficiency in mental health assessment, crisis intervention, and boundary-setting skills.
Thorough knowledge of mental health disorders and familiarity with trauma-informed care practices.
Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits
