Work Environment
This position is fully remote, allowing you to conduct sessions from the comfort of your home while accessing a diverse range of clients. Our telehealth platform is user-friendly and designed to facilitate effective communication and engagement during therapy sessions. You will work within a collaborative virtual community of health professionals dedicated to enhancing treatment outcomes through teamwork and shared knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations through initial and ongoing assessments to determine client needs.
Create tailored treatment plans based on evidence-based practices for individuals, couples, families, and groups.
Lead engaging individual and group therapy sessions, addressing various mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship problems.
Continuously monitor client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to provide holistic care.
Document client interactions and treatment plans accurately in electronic health records using platforms such as AVATAR.
Provide support and resources to families and caregivers to help them manage their loved ones' mental health challenges.
Stay informed about developments in the mental health field and participate in continuing education and training opportunities.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Our clients represent a diverse population, including adolescents, adults, families, and couples faced with a variety of mental health challenges. Our counselors are skilled in culturally competent practices, ensuring that all clients receive care that respects their unique backgrounds and experiences. By employing telehealth services, we expand our reach to those who may not have access to conventional therapy options.
Qualifications
A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
Valid licensure as an LCMFT, LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW-C in the state of Kansas is required.
A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
Preferred Experience
Prior experience as a mental health counselor, particularly in a telehealth environment, is highly advantageous.
Proficiency with electronic health record systems, with specific experience with AVATAR being a plus.
Understanding of various physical and emotional health conditions, as well as addiction disorders.
Familiarity with the best practices outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) and similar organizations.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly with clients.
Compensation and Benefits
