About the Organization

At Brighter Days Mental Health Center, we pride ourselves on providing a supportive and inclusive environment for both our clients and staff. Our community health clinic is dedicated to offering comprehensive mental health services that cater to the diverse needs of our patients. We believe in a holistic approach to mental health care, utilizing evidence-based practices and staying at the forefront of psychiatric advancements to ensure high-quality treatment. Our team is composed of various skilled professionals who collaborate and share a common goal: to promote mental well-being in our community.

Work Environment

This position offers the flexibility of a remote work setting, allowing you to support clients from the comfort of your own home while minimizing commute stress. We leverage telehealth technology to maintain efficiency and accessibility in client sessions, ensuring that our therapists can provide effective care without the barriers of travel. Our digital platforms are user-friendly, allowing you to focus entirely on supporting patient needs rather than logistical challenges.

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Mental Health Therapist, your daily tasks will encompass a variety of activities aimed at fostering client progress:

Conduct detailed initial assessments to evaluate the severity and frequency of mood disorder symptoms, considering personal history and current life situations.

Collaborate with clients to formulate personalized treatment plans that are tailored to their individual circumstances, ensuring that these plans are dynamic and responsive to client needs.

Utilize evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to support clients in managing their symptoms and achieving personal goals.

Educate clients and their families about mood disorders, therapeutic options, and coping strategies necessary for sustained mental health improvement.

Regularly monitor client progress through goal-oriented check-ins and adapt therapeutic techniques as needed to maximize effectiveness.

Work seamlessly alongside psychiatrists and interdisciplinary team members to ensure a holistic approach to patient care, integrating medical and therapeutic interventions.

Maintain thorough and confidential documentation of client interactions, assessments, and treatment progress in line with both legal requirements and ethical standards.

Engage in continuous professional development through participation in case consultations, training, and industry research to remain updated on best practices.

Advocate for clients by working to destigmatize mood disorders within the community and promoting mental health initiatives.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily support individuals experiencing mood disorders, which may include depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety-related conditions. Our diverse clientele comes from various backgrounds, necessitating a therapist who is culturally competent and attuned to the nuances of working with a broad range of clients. You will be tasked with understanding each client’s unique challenges and providing care that empowers them towards recovery.

Qualifications

A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

A current and valid license as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in the state of New York is essential.

Demonstrated clinical expertise in therapeutic modalities such as CBT and DBT, with confirmed success in treating mood disorders.

Strong knowledge of psychopharmacological principles and the ability to work collaboratively with prescribing psychiatrists.

Proficient communication skills, with a knack for building rapport and trust with clients of diverse backgrounds and experiences.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with over three years of clinical experience treating mood disorders are preferred. Familiarity with remote therapy practices and technological systems used in telehealth services will be an advantage.

Compensation and Benefits

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $90,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and skills. In addition to a robust salary, Brighter Days Mental Health Center provides a comprehensive benefits package, including:

Complete healthcare benefits, including medical, dental, and vision for you and your eligible dependents.

A retirement savings plan with employer-matching contributions to help you achieve your financial goals.

Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday pay, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

Access to professional development opportunities, including workshops, conferences, and specialized training in the latest treatment modalities for mood disorders.

A collegial atmosphere that values teamwork and ongoing professional development.

As a member of our team, you will have access to mentorship programs and clear pathways for leadership roles within the organization, allowing for sustained professional growth and the ability to make significant contributions to the field of mental health.
