Job description
Allergy Clinic NurseEssential Functions:Responsible for giving allergy injections and mixing allergy serumsClinical responsibilities include patient triage (weight, blood pressure, temperature readings, updating medication list and obtaining and documentation of chief complaint)Responsible for electronic patient prescription services including communication with pharmacies and verification of all medical prescriptionsMust be knowledgeable of EMRResponsible for phlebotomy and EKG'sAnswers telephone, screens calls, retrieves voicemails, returns patient callsResponsible for precertification requirements for all proceduresResponsible for calling patients in regards to lab resultsResponsible for maintaining daily logsAnswers questions regarding patient appointments and testingResponsible for communication with patients regarding patient information and education regarding procedure prepsResponsible for scheduling procedures and certain medical tests and referral appointments by scheduling dates, times and locations, coordinating and rescheduling as necessaryResponsible for scheduling appointments, verifying all necessary information such as demographics and insurance information in the patient medical record or fileAssists other staff as directedResponsible for other job functions as directedKnowledge of nursing principles and protocols and all aspects of medication names and prescribingKnowledge of policies and procedures related to infection control, environmental safety and patient confidentiality as directed by HIPAA standardsKnowledge of medical chart reporting and recordsAttends meetings as requiredSkills/Abilities:Must be skilled in customer service and have a pleasant and courteous demeanor while dealing with all patients and callersMust be well organized and detail organized and be able to work independently without much supervisionMust have skills in critical thinking, communication, influence and decision makingMust have the ability to work cooperatively as a member of office staff and teamMental/Physical Requirements:Daily standing, walking, squatting, bending, and maneuveringMay require lifting up to 50 poundsStress can be triggered by workload and difficult patternsQualifications:Education:High School Diploma or equivalent.Licenses & Certifications:State Licensed LPN NurseCertified Clinical Medical Assistant CertificationCurrent CPR CertificationLicenses & Certifications PreferredCert Clinical Med AsstLicense Practical NurseEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
