Cochran is a growing civil engineering firm with 7 Missouri offices, offering services in construction administration, materials testing, architectural and geotechnical engineering, and land surveying. Cochran's Wentzville, Missouri location, is looking for a Licensed Engineer to join our team.
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Licensed Professional Engineer to support a wide range of civil engineering projects. This role is ideal for someone who is already licensed and has experience with civil site development.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the planning, design, and delivery of civil engineering projects, including site development, roadway improvements, drainage systems, and utility infrastructure
Prepare design plans, technical specifications, and cost estimates
Perform engineering calculations, site layout, grading, and stormwater modeling
Support project managers with schedules, budgets, permitting, and agency coordination
Conduct site visits and assist with construction observation and documentation
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes
Mentor junior engineers and support staff as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
PE license preferred or on track to obtain within 12 months
7+ years of relevant civil engineering experience
Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Preferred Experience
Familiarity with local, state, and federal design standards and permitting requirements
Experience working with municipalities, DOTs, or private developers
Knowledge of stormwater modeling software or other civil design tools
