Key Responsibilities
Conduct 1:1 counseling sessions via secure video conferencing tools, focusing on providing compassionate and effective therapeutic support to adults experiencing emotional distress.
Screen potential clients to ensure alignment with service offerings, providing care primarily to stable clients with low acuity needs who can benefit from preventive strategies.
Facilitate a safe space for clients to articulate their thoughts and feelings, promoting self-awareness and exploring their emotional landscapes.
Perform thorough evaluations to diagnose emotional or psychological disorders, such as anxiety, grief, stress, and depression, and tailor interventions accordingly.
Create, implement, and continuously assess individualized treatment plans that draw on evidence-based practices and your clinical expertise.
Monitor client progress regularly, adjusting treatment strategies as required, and deliver psychoeducation on coping skills tailored to client needs.
Patient Population / Client Focus
Your clients will primarily consist of adults who may be experiencing a range of emotional difficulties and challenges in their lives. With a focus on low-acuity clients, the approach emphasizes preventive mental health strategies rather than crisis management. You’ll play a pivotal role in helping individuals explore their feelings and behaviors, ultimately guiding them toward healthier coping mechanisms and improved mental well-being.
Qualifications
A Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling is required for this position.
Possession of a valid independent mental health license such as LMFT, LPC, or LCSW is mandatory.
Demonstrated competency in providing therapy in a digital space, including proficiency in using telehealth platforms for client interactions.
Excellent communication skills with a strong ability to engage with clients empathetically and professionally.
Ability to adapt counseling approaches based on individual client needs and circumstances.
Preferred Experience
Prior experience in teletherapy or online counseling is an asset.
Familiarity with treatment strategies for common issues such as stress, anxiety, and depression.
Strong organizational skills to manage a caseload effectively while maintaining thorough records of client interactions.
Compensation and Benefits
As part of our commitment to our counselors, Gotham Enterprises Ltd offers a competitive compensation package that includes a sign-on bonus and an annual salary between USD 90,000 and 104,000 based on the number of hours worked per week.
