We're on the lookout for a confident and experienced Unlicensed Veterinary Technician Assistant or even a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team Full-Time.Location: We're right in the heart of Kingsbridge/Riverdale in the Bronx, where culture and great food abound. Catch a game at Yankee Stadium or relax at the Van Cortland Park. There's something for everyone in the Bronx!Our hospital is very accessible by train via the 1 line or by bus BX 7 & BX 9. We're 15 minutes away from Manhattan. And we have a parking lot, parking spaces are available!A Day in the Life:Collaborate with a team of veterinarians, other veterinary technicians, and support staff to ensure seamless patient care and client service.Help veterinarians with patient exams, procedures, and surgeries, ensuring all equipment and supplies are prepared and ready.Administer medications, vaccinations, lab tests, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.Monitor anesthesia and patient vitals during surgical and dental procedures.Provide compassionate nursing care to hospitalized and recovering patients, including wound management, IV catheterization, and fluid therapy.Enjoy an un-rushed lunch (because your team has things covered back at the office)Operate and maintain diagnostic equipmentCommunicate with pet owners, explain treatment plans, provide updates on patient status, and address any questions or concerns.Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, treatment plans, and medical histories.Get home at a reasonable hourSkills & Requirements:Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), with a valid license in NY or in school to become a veterinary technicianPreferred but not required Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology or equivalent from an accredited program.Required skillsets-Strong knowledge of veterinary medical practices, procedures, and terminology.- Proficiency in compassionately handling and restraining animals, including those exhibiting stress or fear.- Ability to work well under pressure, multitask, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.- Proficiency in using veterinary software for patient records and medical documentation.-Physical capability to lift, carry, and restrain animals of varying sizes.Perks + Benefits:Compensation: $32.00-$38.00 an hour to commensurate with experienceFlexible work schedulesHealth Care, Life Insurance, & Disability: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans; employer-paid basic life insurance and voluntary options including AD&D short-term and long-term disability coverage to protect your income during unforeseen events.Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for all teammatesPaid Time Off:Four (4) weeks of paid time off for all full-time teammates.Two (2) floating holidays for added flexibility.Training & Development:Continuing education opportunities offered to both full-time and part-time teammates.Personalized development programs, including regular check-ins and tailored growth plans, to help you advance in your career.Tuition Assistance: Support for paying off student loan debt, available to all full-time teammates.Uniform Allowance: $150 per year for full-time teammates to ensure you're equipped with professional attire.Discounted Pet Care: Available for both part-time and full-time teammates, helping you provide the best care for your pets.Industry Leading Parental Leave Policy:For Birth Parent(s): Up to 14 weeks of paid leave at 100%, which includes:6–8 weeks of 100% income replacement (40% covered by VIP, 60% by STD).An additional 6 weeks of paid leave at 100% covered by VIP.For Non-Birth Parent(s): 6 weeks of paid leave at 100%, fully covered by VIP.Veterinary Innovative Partners (VIP) is a network of veterinarian-owned-and-operated hospitals across twelve states.
