GENERAL FUNCTION: The Child Care Licensing Support Director is responsible for overall coordination, monitoring and oversite of regulatory aspects of child care programming. The positions provide support and expertise to the Child Care Program Directors and Coordinators in all licensing and compliance matters working with the leadership team to reach established department goals and maintain high-quality programs. In addition, the Licensing Support Director participates in recruitment, hiring, on-boarding and training child care team members. Areas of responsibility include KDHE Compliance, Association Conditions of Employment, School Age Program staff file tracking, KDHE background check and fingerprint processing.
MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred; HS Diploma required.
Experience working with youth, youth serving organizations and/or regulatory agencies
Administrative experience in licensed child care and proven success in compliance.
Experience with KDHE regulations preferred.
Minimum 6 months of management and supervisory experience required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The successful employee will demonstrate individual competence in the following areas:
Knowledge and experience managing KDHE licensed programs
Ability to mentor, supervise and develop adults.
Experience in creating and monitoring budgets.
Knowledge of youth development and positive behavior strategies.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently with limited oversight.
Effectively respond to questions from employees, directors, and other entities in a timely manner.
Possess the ability to be flexible.
Ability to manage high stress and emergency situations
Physical/Mental Requirements:
Ability to lead and coach teams and individuals and can communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
