Open Circle of Apple Valley is hiring a Life Enrichment Aide/HHA to join our team at our adult day center. With a Monday through Friday schedule and no evening, weekend or holiday shifts, this position offers great work life balance.
nAs a Life Enrichment Aide/HHA at Open Circle of Apple Valley, you will work with a dedicated team to assist members with purposeful activities such as creative arts, brain games, reminiscence and community engagement. Our ideal candidate is passionate about working with mature adults (including those living with dementia), thrives in a positive work environment, and has good critical thinking skills. Those holding CTRS or COTA credentials are highly encouraged to apply.
nPosition Type: Full-Time
nHours: 8:00 am -4:30 pm
nPay: $19 per hour
nLocation: 14610 Garrett Avenue, Apple Valley, MN 55124
nLife Enrichment Aide/HHA Responsibilities:
nnnHelp each member reach and maintain the highest level of performance and independence
n
nnAssists with individual care by implementing treatment plans. This includes ADLs such as toileting, personal hygiene, etc.
n
nnPrepare, implement, clean up, and evaluate assigned daily programs for members. Daily programs include activities such as table games, arts and crafts, word games/ trivia, music and more!
n
nnAssist with planning and implementing all aspects of assigned community outings; schedule and coordinate transportation.
n
nnDisplay an attitude of courtesy and respect for all members, families, and staff.
n
nnUpdate social workers and case managers on members’ progress, needs, and/or changes of behaviors. A small caseload may be included with the position.
n
nnPerform additional tasks as needed.
n
n n Life Enrichment Aide/HHA Qualifications:
nnnHigh School Diploma or equivalent.
n
nnFormal training and/or licensure in the health care or social service field or Bachelor’s degree in human services, recreational therapy or related field or equivalent experience (preferred).
n
nnCaregiving (HHA or PCA) experience preferred.
n
nnCTRS or COTA certification preferred.
n
nnExperience with elderly and/or disabled persons.
