Be The Difference.Job SummaryResponsible for ensuring safety of the facility's clients by preventing and responding to emergencies in the pool area.Essential FunctionsAll team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's purpose: Inspire health. Be the difference.Report and work to resolve any condition or situation that may damage a client(s) wellbeing or overall safetyIdentify self by name and department when answering the phone.Maintain cleaning of pool area and office. Hose deck daily. Vacuum pools daily. Clean, windows, sills and doors. Scrub depth tiles around pool. Scrub pool drainage strips. Clean stainless-steel ladders and pool edges. Sweep down bottom of pools daily. Straighten up pool equipment and toys. Maintain a neat pool environment.Keep office area clean, neatly organized and clutter free. Maintains paperwork required in the aquatic area.Relays information to members regarding pool schedule.Maintenance of pool chemicals and equipment. Check pH, chlorine and alkalinity with test kits as required. Record chemical results on designated forms. Check acid barrel and correctly mix when refill is needed if fitted for respirator.Clean hot tub according to procedure and schedule. Responsible to keep alkalinity at 120 by using correctly measured amount of sodium bicarbonate needed. Correctly calculate and measure the amount of Oxybrite to use when shocking the pools for regular maintenance. Backwashing pools. Turning cleaning system on and off.Know location of on/off switches for pumps, ozonator pumps, gas heaters and acid feeder.Complete decontamination procedure when needed.Complete required documentation/paperwork.Performs other duties as assigned.Supervisory/Management ResponsibilitiesThis is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.Minimum RequirementsEducation - High School Diploma or GED preferred.Experience - No experience required. Lifeguard experience preferred.Required Certifications, Registrations, LicensesCurrent American Red Cross certified lifeguard and/or shallow water attendant and CPR for the Professional RescuerRequired Knowledge, Skills, AbilitiesCertified Pool Operator PreferredWater Safety Instructor PreferredWater Safety Instructor Trainer PreferredWork ShiftVariable (United States of America)LocationBlount Memorial HospitalFacilityBlount Memorial Hospital, Inc.DepartmentWellness - SpringbrookShare your talent with us!
