Job description
LifeguardEnsure the safety of facility patrons in the pool area by preventing and responding to emergencies. At times, work as a Water Safety Instructor Aide during lessons.QualificationsMust be 15 years or olderCurrent certifications in American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and AED - or equivalentDemonstrate proficiency in lifesaving techniquesBe in good health and be physically fit to perform all dutiesPossess good public relation skillsReports to: Head Lifeguard, Pool Supervisor, and/or Aquatics CoordinatorLength of contract: Variable hours as determined by the Aquatics CoordinatorEssential FunctionsRecognize and respond effectively in emergenciesKnow pool and building Emergency Action PlansEnforce all District and program policies, rules and regulationsInspect the facility each shift and report any unsafe conditions (including equipment) to their supervisor immediatelyAssist with the general care and cleaning of the facilityAssist Water Safety Instructors with lessons as assignedParticipate in staff training sessions as directed by Aquatics CoordinatorPerforms other related duties as assigned
