Job description
LifeguardThe purpose of this position is to provide enforcement of safety policies and maintain pool facilities. This is a permanent, part-time position.Examples of duties include: Lifeguarding all swimming sessions to ensure safety of public; cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms and pool facilities daily utilizing mops and brooms; maintaining good public relations through aquatic services and facilities; preventing accidents in the water and on the decks; rescuing and providing emergency care to accident victims; providing enforcement of all rules and regulations as defined in Pool Operations; scrutinizing interior of pool and exterior pool area for potential hazards and initiating removal of such hazards; assisting in clean-up and maintenance of pool area and admission area; emptying trash cans, replacing liners, and sweeping walkways near entrances of pools assigned; performing minor, job related, maintenance on pool equipment; receiving and handling complaints providing assistance, information, and solutions as needed; and performing related work as assigned.Typical qualifications include: Must be at least 15 years old; requires lifeguard training, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and First Aid Certifications.Pay rate depends upon experience.
