Job description
LifeguardMonitors swimming area to prevent accidents, provides assistance to swimmers and enforces pool safety rules.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaintain surveillance of swimming pool and surrounding deck areaRescue and administer first aid and CPR as neededMaintain order in swimming areasInspect pool area for cleanliness and safety hazardsTest chlorine or bromine content and pH value of water and add chemicals as neededEnforce MTA's swimming pool rules, regulations and policiesApply Emergency Action Plan when necessarySet up, break down, and store pool deck and safety equipment upon opening and closingAdhere to company memos and safety notices and prepares Accident/Incident reports as necessaryRegular and reliable attendance requiredPerforms other related duties as assignedSkills/KnowledgeKnowledge of lifesaving techniques and methods requiredKnowledge of first aid principals and practices requiredMust be able to utilize and interpret a chemical testing kitEducation/ExperienceHigh School Diploma preferredPrevious lifeguarding experience preferredCertificates and LicensesMust possess current Lifeguard; Standard First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer; and AED certifications. Lifeguard training available through MTA.OtherMust be available to work weekends.
