Lifeguard PositionThe Harry & Rose Samson Family JCC offers an engaging and inclusive workplace where your work truly makes a difference. As a Lifeguard, you are responsible for the safety of all program participants within the pool area. We are currently seeking lifeguards for various shifts, including high-priority opening shifts. Special Shift Incentive We have a specific need for Opening Morning Shifts (4:45am – 7:00am). To recognize the early start, these hours are paid at $5/hour more than non-opening hours.What can you expect from a typical day: Surveil and visually scan assigned areas every 30 seconds. Monitor activities and prevent accidents using various stations (walking/roving or lifeguard stands). Respond to all illness and injury incidents immediately; perform First Aid, CPR, and rescues as required by your training. Caution swimmers regarding unsafe practices and professionally enforce pool rules. Update information boards and provide general pool operation info to members. Attend all mandatory staff meetings and departmental trainings.What will you need to be successful: Must be 15 years of age or older. Ability to meet swim requirements: 150-yard swim, 2-minute tread (no hands), plus an additional 50-yard swim. Brick Retrieval: Swim 20 yards, retrieve a brick from the deep end, and swim 20 yards back with both hands on the brick.
