LifeguardOcean City, MarylandJob Summary: The Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all guests using the pool and surrounding areas. This role monitors activity, enforces pool rules, and responds to emergencies as needed, creating a clean, safe, and welcoming recreational environment aligned with guest service and safety standards.Essential Functions and Duties:Monitor guest activity in and around the pool to ensure safe use of all aquatic facilitiesEnforce pool rules and safety guidelines consistently and respectfullyRecognize and respond to emergency situations swiftly using approved rescue techniquesAdminister first aid and CPR as trained and authorized, and activate emergency protocols when necessaryProvide friendly, helpful service by answering guest questions and offering resort informationPerform daily pool area inspections and assist with cleanliness, water clarity, and equipment maintenance as assignedFollow all safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment when handling pool chemicalsPractice sustainability and safe work habits in alignment with property standards and environmental programsComplete all required documentation, safety logs, and maintenance checklists accurately and on timePerform other duties as assigned by managementRequired Experience, Education, and Skills:High school diploma or equivalent requiredCurrent American Red Cross Lifeguard certification requiredCPR/AED and First Aid certifications required (may be included in Lifeguard certification)Previous lifeguard or pool attendant experience preferredStrong awareness of safety practices and guest service standardsAbility to remain alert, focused, and calm in high-pressure situationsExcellent communication and decision-making skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamMust be dependable, punctual, and professional in appearance and conductWork Environment:Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat and sun exposureFrequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 25 lbs), bending, and reaching throughout the shiftRegular exposure to pool chemicals including chlorine and other sanitizing agentsFlexible schedule required, including weekends, holidays, and evening shifts as neededMust remain physically fit to perform rescues, administer aid, and maintain visual supervision for extended periodsEqual Employment Opportunity: Stonebridge is committed to equal employment opportunities.
