YMCA of Central Massachusetts, Boroughs Family Branch LifeguardAre you a strong swimmer? Do you have great skill and technique with a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills? Do you enjoy being responsible and be able to provide supervision and safety of all in a pool environment with your spare time? If so, the YMCA of Central Massachusetts, Boroughs Family Branch is looking for you to join our amazing Aquatics Department!Lifeguard Certification required; however, we offer the course for a minimal fee as a part of being hired. In order to be hired, candidate must successfully complete the lifeguarding course.Essential Functions:Maintains active surveillance of the pool area and ensures a safe environment for all members and staff.Knows and reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with YMCA policies, including delivering life saving care.Remains calm and objective when under pressure or when challenged by others.Performs equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available as needed.Check the pool for hazardous conditions when arriving and reports to the right personnel when appropriatePerforms chemical testing when not guarding, as required, and takes appropriate action.Attends staff trainings/meetings and maintain active certifications related to the position.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Must hold active Lifeguard Certification and able to present said certification before being hiredMust be at least 16 years oldMust have the following certifications: basic Life Support or professional rescuer CPR/AED, first aid and emergency oxygen administration at hiring or within 30 days of hire dateJob Type: Part-timeSchedule: Please let us know your availability!Pay: $15.00/hour, Access to facilities to all YMCA employees, Employee Assistance Program, and Sick LeaveIf this sounds like something you are eager to do and want to apply, please submit your online application today!About Us:The Y: We're for youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.Our Culture: Our mission and core values are brought to life by our culture.
