PT LifeguardThe Salvation Army, an internationally recognized non-profit, faith-based organization, is looking for a PT Lifeguard for our Sand Springs Red Shield Youth Center, located in Sand Springs, Oklahoma.Job Summary:Serve as lifeguard for all pool operations; provide constant surveillance of pool activities.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of life saving techniques and ability to perform them in emergency situations.Ability to supervise swimmers and provide constant surveillance of pool activities in order to ensure swimmer safety and to respond to emergency rescue when needed.Ability to enforce all swimming pool rules.Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.Ability to swim and meet lifesaving requirements.Education and Experience:Must be at least 15 years of age. Complete the required training to be a certified lifeguard AND six months experience as a lifeguard OR any equivalent demonstration of training or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.Certifications:Red Cross Certified LifeguardPhysical Requirements:Ability to meet attendance requirements.Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.)Working Conditions:Work is performed in an indoor pool environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with humidity, heat, noise, dust, dirt, and the like.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or protected veteran status and will not be discriminated against on the basis of disability.Equal Opportunity Employer Minorities/Women/Veterans/Disabled.
