Job description
Pool LifeguardReports To: Pool ManagerPosition Purpose: To maintain a constant vigil over all patrons of the pool while on duty.Qualifications:Must be at least 16 years of ageMust hold a current Red Cross Lifeguarding CertificationMust complete PRT preseason trainingA Water Test must be passed to qualifyMust have current CPR training at the time they begin lifeguarding dutiesPerformance Responsibilities:Enforces the rules and regulations for the pool operation and for the conduct of bathers as set by the Recreation DepartmentTeaches and assists teaching PRT swimming classesMaintains a constant vigil over patrons in assigned areas and performs rescue for persons in distressRenders first aid and CPR when necessaryPerforms pool maintenance as neededAttends all lifeguard training scheduled before and during the summer swim seasonOther responsibilities as assignedTerms of Employment: As determined by supervisor.Evaluation: Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board policy on evaluation of Support Service Personnel.Significant associations: The performance responsibilities are not limited to those outlined in this description and may include any other responsibilities as assigned by the administrator/supervisor.
