Job description
Lifeguard Position at Tropic FallsOur lifeguards will work at a variety of water attractions at Tropic Falls including slides, wave pools, and lazy rivers. They work as a team with other lifeguards to ensure the safety of swimmers, perform rescues, and in certain situations, perform lifesaving first aid. Their job is to ensure that guests have a fun and safe environment in which to swim and lounge about with family and friends. They may also be responsible for cleaning the area and checking water quality.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Maintain a professional appearance by adhering to uniform and grooming standardsProactively monitor and scan assigned zones of pools and attractionsMaintain Jeff Ellis & Associates Lifeguarding certification program standardsKeep focus and have acute awareness at all timesRecognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergenciesProfessionally communicate and politely enforce policies to ensure the safety of all guestsPerform and document safety inspections of attractions, features, slides, and equipmentAssist and guide guests around water slides and featuresProvide outstanding service according to company standardsMaintain a safe, efficient, and inclusive environment for all guests and team membersAssist with maintaining the cleanliness of Tropic Falls including vacuuming pools, sweeping decks, picking up trash, and keeping work areas neat, clean, and organizedProject a positive image to all guests and team membersQUALIFICATIONS:At least 16 years oldMust have reliable transportation and report to work on time as scheduledAble to obtain and maintain Jeff Ellis and Associates (E&A) Lifeguard Training Program License; training and licensing will be provided once hiredMaintain license through participation in monthly in-service training and upholding E&A standardsStrong attention to detail and commitment to safetyExcellent organizational and communication skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentMust be able to react well under stressful and emergency situationsWilling to work during operating hours on a flexible schedule which will include nights, weekends, and holidaysMust be able to stand and be immersed in water for extended periods of timeMust be able to work in all weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, and rainAbility to climb multiple flights of stairsCurrent valid driver's licenseSuccessful completion of a criminal background check and drug screenEnthusiastic: Shows intense and eager enjoyment and interestEqual Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
