Job description
Job OverviewA law firm seeks a Litigation Associate Attorney for a remote position based in Tarrytown, NY. This full-time role offers a flexible work environment, allowing remote or hybrid arrangements, except for court-mandated appearances. The position involves representing New Jersey clients in diverse and challenging legal matters.
Duties
Represent clients in all phases of litigation from initiation to expert discovery.
Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions, and case management conferences.
Conduct complex legal research and discovery investigations.
Draft discovery requests, motions, case evaluation summaries, and legal memoranda.
Review discovery responses and prepare litigation update reports.
Negotiate with opposing counsel to settle claims.
Communicate closely with clients to provide legal analysis and advice.
Requirements
Must be barred in NJ.
Familiarity with NJ law and procedure required.
Previous experience in civil litigation preferred.
Experience drafting discovery, taking lead on depositions, and arguing motions preferred.
Excellent writing and organizational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Lexis software.
Education
Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.
Certifications
Admission to the New Jersey Bar.
Skills
