Job description
A law firm seeks a Litigation Associate in Baltimore, MD. This full-time role involves assisting in all stages of complex litigation, including fact investigation, legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery, and preparing case strategies under the supervision of senior attorneys.
Duties
Assist in fact investigation and legal research.
Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
Prepare case strategies under supervision.
Review and analyze records.
Prepare deposition outlines and summaries.
Draft correspondence to clients and opposing counsel.
Manage case files and deadlines.
Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
Coordinate with clients, experts, and witnesses.
Contribute to case evaluations and strategy discussions.
Requirements
Up to three years of litigation and/or judicial clerkship experience.
Proficiency in drafting and arguing motions.
Excellent legal research skills.
Familiarity with state and federal courts in Maryland.
Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously.
High ethical standards and sound professional judgment.
Education
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Certifications
Admission to, or eligibility for prompt admission to, the Maryland Bar.
Skills
Strong foundation in civil litigation and trial practice.
Attention to detail and ability to present complex issues clearly.
