Job Details
Responsibilities
Defend physicians, hospitals, health systems, and other healthcare providers in medical malpractice and professional liability litigation
Manage cases through all phases of litigation: pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motion practice, expert development, mediation, and trial preparation
Review and analyze medical records; work closely with medical and standard‑of‑care experts
Draft dispositive and pretrial motions, discovery, and legal memoranda
Represent providers in related risk management, peer review, credentialing, and professional licensing board matters
Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex and multi‑jurisdictional disputes
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school
Active license to practice law in Texas, in good standing
(2–5) years of litigation experience; medical malpractice, professional liability, or healthcare defense experience strongly preferred
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
Deposition and discovery experience; comfort managing cases with a degree of independence
