A respected and growing law firm is seeking a Litigation Attorney to join its team in the South Suburban Chicago area . This opportunity offers meaningful, hands-on litigation work in both state and federal court , with a focus on civil rights defense and representing governmental and public-sector clients .
Key Responsibilities
Draft motions, briefs, pleadings, and other litigation-related documents
Conduct depositions and prepare witnesses for testimony
Manage cases through discovery and trial preparation
Appear in state and federal court proceedings
Partner with clients and legal teams to develop litigation strategy
Qualifications
5+ years of litigation experience in state and federal court
Experience with civil rights litigation and/or government-related matters
Strong legal research, writing, and courtroom advocacy skills
Ability to independently manage an active caseload
Experience representing governmental entities or public-sector clients is preferred
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary: $100,000-$150,000
Discretionary bonus plus additional compensation for exceeding billable expectations
Billable requirement: 1,920 hours , with flexibility
