Companion PositionLocated on the North Fork of Long Island in Southold, NY. If you are looking for live-in employment on Long Island...We are hiring companions who want to join our team! If you are looking to work for a quality company servicing the home care industry, please apply today!Responsibilities:Provide companionship for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents by attending to their basic needs, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, and assistance with non-medical daily living activities.Remind clients to take prescribed medication and provide safety oversight with ambulationEnsure safe mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.)Complete client’s shopping or accompany them to successfully do soPerform housekeeping duties and report any unusual incidentsAct quickly and responsibly in cases of emergencyOffer activities that are essential for daily living by assisting patients with their meals, including serving and other tasks, if necessaryQualifications:Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skillsAbility to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds with physical capability to perform job-related dutiesValidated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive mannerAvailable to work 7 days per week or per-diemPrior experience in a companion care, hospitality, or in-home care environment (minimum of 1 year)Willingness to enforce health and safety standardsSupportive and compassionateHigh School Diploma or equivalent/Experience as a CaregiverTake pride in providing high quality careLift Experience (specific to client)We are an equal opportunity employer and prohibit discrimination/harassment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
