Job Description
Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Profession: Living Center CNA

Shift: Full-Time Evenings
Hours per Shift: 7.5 hours
Experience: One year of experience in Long-Term Care or CNA capacity
License: NYS Nursing Assistant Certification
Certifications: BLS (through AHA or RQI only)
Must-Have: High School Diploma or GED
Description:
Resident's activities of daily living (ADLs) needs are met as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures within a safe and comfortable environment.
This includes hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence/catheter care, elimination/toileting needs, turning/positioning, and skin care.
Documentation is to be completed per protocol.
Resident's environment and safety are maintained as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures.
This includes answering call lights and alarms promptly, provision of safety mats and low beds, and restraint use under the direction of Nursing.
Maintenance of cleanliness of the unit, behavior and fall prevention, and appropriate use of and monitoring for malfunctioning equipment are also required.
Documentation is to be completed per protocol.
Resident's nutritional needs are met as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures.
This includes meal delivery, tray preparation, adaptive equipment use, feeding, and providing nourishments.
Resident's preferences and choices shall be honored.
Documentation is to be completed per protocol.
Resident's rehabilitative needs are met as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures.
This includes range of motion, ambulation, transfers, and proper body alignment.
Use of assistive devices is also required.
Documentation is to be completed per protocol.
Resident's rights, refusals, and concerns are reported to the Charge and/or Supervising Nurse in a timely fashion in accordance with policies and procedures.
Changes in resident's physical, emotional, and psychosocial status are identified and reported to the Charge Nurse promptly.
Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated.
Required tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues.
