We look for individuals who connect with our core values:Make a Difference - We care, take initiative, and find solutions.Relationships Matter - We build trust through teamwork and service.Live with Integrity - We do the right thing and take ownership.Love What We Do - We bring energy, passion, and a growth mindset.Share Positivity - We encourage and uplift those around us.When you join SBSU, you'll become part of a team that is committed to making a meaningful impact in the communities we serve.What You'll DoAs a Loan Assistant, you'll provide administrative and operational support throughout the lending process while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional customer service.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport loan officers and loan processors with loan applications, renewals, and documentation.Review borrower files and verify required information and supporting documents.Communicate with customers regarding loan status, documentation needs, and general inquiries.Coordinate loan signings and closings while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.Order and track appraisals, environmental reports, title work, flood certifications, insurance documentation, and other required reports.Review and manage documentation including credit reports, financial statements, UCC filings, vehicle titles, and collateral records.Prepare loans for boarding and processing.Process loan payments, advances, fees, and related transactions.Maintain loan and collateral files, scan and archive documents, and ensure records remain accurate and complete.Prepare correspondence for customers and outside agencies.Perform loan maintenance activities within bank systems.Stay current on lending regulations, policies, and procedures.Assist with general branch support, including answering phones, greeting customers, and maintaining files.What Success Looks LikeIn this role, you'll thrive by:Maintaining accurate and compliant loan documentation.Providing responsive, professional service to customers and internal partners.Staying organized while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.Protecting confidential information with discretion and care.Contributing to a positive, collaborative team environment.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.Must be at least 18 years of age.Ability to pass a credit and background check.Preferred Qualifications1+ year of experience in lending, banking, mortgage, escrow, title, or a related financial services environment.Experience with loan documentation and closing processes.Understanding of lending regulations and banking policies.Basic knowledge of credit analysis and financial statements.Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.Skills for SuccessStrong organizational and multitasking abilities.Excellent customer service and communication skills.Sound judgment and attention to detail.Ability to safeguard confidential information.Comfort learning and using banking software and systems.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others.Strong problem-solving and time-management skills.Benefits & PerksMedical Insurance with HSA optionDental InsuranceVision InsuranceBasic Life, AD&D, and Long-Term Disability InsuranceSupplemental Life and AD&D Coverage Options401(k) with Employer MatchAnnual Incentive ProgramPaid Time Off (PTO) Accrued Each Pay PeriodUp to 12 Paid Holidays Per YearChildcare Reimbursement ProgramReady to Make an Impact?
