Position Purpose: The Loan Officer must believe in, practice, and initiate all Green Brick Partners values set forth in an acronym we call HOME. They must be H onest, O bjective, M ature and E fficient in how they approach their role at Green Brick Partners.
Green Brick Mortgage is seeking a motivated and experienced Loan Officer to join our team in Plano, TX. As a Loan Officer, you will be responsible for assisting clients in securing mortgage loans for their home purchases, refinancing, or other needs. This role involves evaluating loan applications, providing personalized financial advice, and ensuring a seamless process from application to closing.
Responsibilities
• Originate residential mortgage loans.
• Evaluate and recommend loan products to meet client needs.
• Collect and review financial documents from clients.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mortgage products, industry regulations, and company policies.
• Provide exceptional customer service throughout the loan process.
• Develop and maintain relationships with real estate agents, builders, and other industry professionals.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company guidelines.
Supervision of Others: N/A
Authority/Budget/Decision Making/Discretion and Independent Judgment Ability:
Utilizes discretion, judgment, and high-level analytical skills to interpret complex situations. Authority to issue pre-qualification letters, credit report reviews, income calculations, reviewing borrows applications to confirm they meet loan product guidelines.
Qualifications
Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred.
Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of mortgage lending practices, regulations, and guidelines.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in loan origination software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• NMLS license required.
Experience:
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mortgage loan origination.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for 4 hours straight or up to a full 8-hour day; sit for extended periods; kneel and bend at the waist; walk up and down stairs; walk on unlevel terrain; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision ability required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision.
