Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to support orthopedic medical and surgical care in inpatient and outpatient settings. Responsibilities include patient assessments, ordering diagnostic tests and medications, coordinating treatment plans with orthopedic physicians, managing discharges, providing emergency care, and assisting in orthopedic surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct patient evaluations, histories, and physical examinations.
Manage inpatient and outpatient orthopedic care.
Order and review diagnostic tests, laboratory work, and imaging.
Coordinate treatment plans with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Assist in orthopedic surgeries, including surgical exposure, wound closure, and dressing application.
Provide emergency care and support postoperative recovery.
Educate patients and families on treatment, discharge plans, and follow-up care.
Participate in on-call OR coverage, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
Active California Physician Assistant license.
Minimum 3 years of experience in inpatient, outpatient, and surgical care.
Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Active DEA registration.
Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills.
Ability to work full-time with rotating on-call responsibilities.
