Responsibilities
Plan, design, and implement appropriate instructional programs
Create engaging learning experiences using curriculum, resources, and technology
Personalize instruction based on student needs
Monitor and assess student progress
Analyze assessment data to improve instruction
Communicate student progress with students and parents/guardians
Establish and maintain a safe, supportive learning environment
Manage student behavior in instructional and school settings
Plan instructional activities with school and non-school-based professional staff
Support colleagues, students, parents, and community stakeholders
Participate in the school's professional learning community
Create assessments that measure lesson/unit mastery
May direct the work of paraprofessionals, student teachers, and volunteers
Support students during activities outside the classroom, including field trips and extracurricular activities
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
Holds or is eligible for a teaching license with the appropriate subject-area endorsement
Knowledge of subject content, curriculum, and effective teaching methodology
Proficiency with multimedia and computer technology to enhance learning
Ability to establish collaborative relationships with students, colleagues, administrators, and parents
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong human relations skills
