Job description
Types of Cases
The diagnostic and therapeutic areas encompass:
General Surgery
Obstetrics and Gynecology
Orthopedic Surgery
Urology
Gastroenterology
Catheterization Laboratory
Cardiovascular Surgery
Endoscopy
Otolaryngology
Spinal Surgery
Limited involvement in aortic surgery, no cardiac transplant procedures, and minimal thoracic surgical volume. Comparable case diversity is observed at both Aventura and Mercy hospitals.
Majority Case Types
Predominant areas of practice include: Orthopedic Surgery, General Surgery, and Obstetrics/Gynecology.
Required Case Types
The cardiac cases managed comprise:
Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)
Valve procedures
Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
MitraClip placements
Left Atrial Appendage (LAA) ligation
Electrophysiological studies
Electronic Medical Record System
Medaxion
Shift Days
The scheduled workdays are Monday through Friday, with shifts available from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, aligned with discharge order processes.
Call Requirements
Participation in on-call duties is mandatory.
Weekend Requirements
Weekend work is also required.
Qualifications
Board Certification: Required
Florida State Medical License: Required
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS): Required
Basic Life Support (BLS): Required
Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration: Required
