Job Title: Nurse Practitioner - Cardiothoracic Surgery

Hours per Shift: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. and floor call/beeper 3 p.m. - 7 a.m.; Saturday and Sunday 24 hour onsite support
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in Cardiothoracic and Vascular surgery services
License: Active Ohio license or compact license
Certifications: Active ACLS, Active DEA
Must-Have:
- Board certified in Vascular Surgery
- Clean background with no malpractice or license issues
Description:
This is a locum Nurse Practitioner position in the Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery specialty.
Coverage is needed for 1 to 2 weeks per month until 2027.
The schedule includes Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with additional floor call/beeper responsibilities from 3 p.m. to 7 a.m.
There will be 24-hour onsite support required over the weekends.
Providers will be needed on call during assignments.
The average volume of patients is 20-26 daily in an inpatient setting.
The job involves post-operative care for all types of cardiothoracic and vascular patients.
Duties include performing emergency surgeries and taking consults/referrals from the emergency department and other providers.
Providers must be able to assist in surgeries, write prescriptions, and coordinate care.
Rounding, interpreting tests, and ordering tests are also required.
Vein harvesting and retrieval of vascular tissues for bypass conduit use are essential skills in this role.
Documentation will be done in an electronic medical record system.
Credentialing may take 90-120 days, with potential for temporary privileges if submission is prompt and the file is clear.
Approved travel reimbursements include airfare, lodging, rental car, and mileage at IRS rate.
