Physician Assistant | Other Location: Frot Worth, TX Employer: Rhino Medical Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Contract Duration: 2 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Fort Worth, Texas Trauma Surgery Physician Assistant Locum Tenens Opportunity Level I Trauma • STICU • 12-Hour Shifts • September Coverage Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking an experienced Trauma Surgery Physician Assistant for a high-acuity locum tenens opportunity in Fort Worth, Texas. This assignment is built for an experienced Trauma/Acute Care PA who is comfortable in a Level I Trauma Center and Surgical Trauma ICU environment and wants to step directly into a well-supported surgical practice. The clinical model pairs APPs with substantial attending surgeon and APP coverage across both days and nights, providing the resources necessary to manage complex trauma and Emergency General Surgery patients. The current need begins September 1, 2026 , with approximately 18 twelve-hour shifts requiring coverage during September . Opportunity Highlights Fort Worth, Texas Trauma Surgery Physician Assistant Locum Tenens Target Start: September 1, 2026 Approximately 18 Shifts Needed in September 12-Hour Shifts Inpatient Trauma / Emergency General Surgery Level I Trauma Center STICU Practice Epic EMR In-House Coverage No Additional Call ATLS Required Experienced Trauma / STICU PAs Needed Schedule & Coverage 12-hour shifts Day and night coverage based on scheduling needs Approximately 18 shifts requiring coverage in September Order reflects a potential 3 x 12-hour / 36-hour weekly structure In-house clinical coverage only No additional call responsibilities after scheduled coverage Specific September dates will be determined according to the clinical coverage schedule. Trauma & Surgical Practice This is a high-volume Level I Trauma environment supporting both Trauma Surgery and Emergency General Surgery. The ideal PA should already be comfortable managing high-acuity surgical patients and working within a busy STICU environment. This is not an entry-level trauma assignment—the clinical team is specifically seeking an experienced clinician capable of integrating into an established surgical service. Patient encounters vary based on trauma volume and clinical activity. Clinical Support The depth of surgical and APP coverage is a significant differentiator for this assignment. Day Coverage 5 Surgeons 4 Additional APPs Night Coverage 2 Surgeons 1 Additional APP This model gives experienced PAs the opportunity to practice at a high clinical level while maintaining direct access to substantial surgical support. Clinical Responsibilities Participate in the management of Trauma and Emergency General Surgery patients Provide inpatient care across the surgical service Evaluate and manage high-acuity trauma patients Participate in STICU patient management Perform clinical procedures within credentialed scope Coordinate care with Trauma and EGS surgeons Collaborate with fellow APPs, nursing, critical care, and ancillary teams Respond to changing patient acuity throughout the shift Complete clinical documentation within Epic Support continuity of care across the trauma and surgical service Candidate Requirements Physician Assistant Appropriate Texas licensure and credentialing Recent Level I Trauma experience Recent STICU experience Trauma Surgery and/or Emergency General Surgery experience Current ATLS Comfortable managing high-acuity surgical patients Comfortable working 12-hour inpatient shifts Ability to integrate quickly into an established trauma surgery team Who This Opportunity Is Built For This assignment is designed for the experienced Trauma PA who doesn't need an introduction to high-acuity surgery.
