Quick Facts: Location: 700 South Park Street, Madison, WI 53715 Start Date: 11/16/2026 End Date: 02/15/2027 Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM with 1:5 call (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM) Hours/Week: 50 hours/week Employment Type: Contract License/Certifications: WI State License, BLS, ACLS, DEA Experience: Minimum 2 years as a PA, with 1 year as a first assist in cardiac surgery Pay & Benefits: Hourly Pay Rate: $162.24 Benefits include: Weekly pay via direct deposit Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Paid sick time in accordance with applicable laws Licensure, certification, travel, and reimbursement when applicable Robust referral bonus program with ongoing support What You’ll Do: Support cardiothoracic surgeons with preoperative and postoperative patient care Assist with complex cardiac procedures, including robotic surgeries Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including RNs and support staff Manage adult patients in a fast-paced surgical environment Document clinical activities using Epic EMR Ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes during perioperative care Adhere to all hospital policies and standards of care What You Need: Valid Wisconsin State License and DEA registration Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a Physician Assistant; 1 year in cardiac surgery as a first assist Current BLS and ACLS certifications Strong skills in cardiac procedures, with familiarity in robotic surgery preferred Ability to work well in a team and handle a high-acuity patient population About the Assignment: This assignment is based at a leading facility in Madison, WI, specializing in cardiothoracic surgery. The role involves diverse assisting duties in a busy surgical suite supporting adult cardiac procedures, including advanced robotic techniques.
