Coverage Opportunity Overview
Practice Setting: Hospital Call
Coverage Period: December 1, 2026 - June 30, 2027
Shift Details: 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Weekly rotation: 7 on, 7 off
Rationale for Coverage: Recruitment Gap
Patient Load: 16 inpatient cases per day
Support Staff Responsibilities: Rounding and intermittent patient staffing
Occasional code coverage
Advanced Practice Provider (APP) support handles admissions
Current EHR System: Cerner
Required Competencies: Internal Medicine, Adult inpatient care (excluding ICU/CCU)
Coverage Schedule
Weekly rotation: one week on, one week off
Specific shift dates and times include:
December 1, 2026, 7 AM - 7 PM
December 7, 2026
December 29, 2026, 7 AM - 7 PM
January 4, 2027
Shift Structure
Regular 12-hour day shifts (7 AM - 7 PM) covered every four weeks
Transition to every other week starting December
Weekend Requirements: Yes
Requirements
Board Certification: Required
BLS and ACLS Certification: Required
DEA: Verbal confirmation required at name clearance
Background Check: Clean background mandatory for expedited privileging
Licensure: Active Michigan medical license required
Availability Notification: Requested at name clearance
Employee Health Mandates
Flu Vaccine: Required for the season
COVID-19 Documentation: If the booster has not been received, a declination must be submitted
Tuberculosis Testing: 2-step skin test within the last 12 months or Quantiferon within the last 6 months
Completion of TB Questionnaire
Hepatitis B Immunization: Titer with quantifiable results or signed declination
MMR Immunization: Vaccine series or titers with quantifiable results
Varicella Immunization: Vaccine series or titers with quantifiable results
TDAP Immunization: Adult vaccine received within the last 10 years
Certification and Licensure Requirements
Board Certification: Mandatory
State License: Must be valid in Michigan
