Doctor of Medicine | Cardiology - General/Other Location: Potsdam, NY Employer: Lancesoft Inc Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Shift Information: Days - 4 days x 10 hours Start Date: ASAP About the Position Locum Tenens Cardiology Physician Description We are seeking a Board-Certified Cardiologist for a locum tenens assignment supporting both outpatient cardiology services and hospital-based consult coverage in Northern New York . This is a 6–9-month assignment , with an anticipated start as soon as credentialing and privileging are completed. The position is designed for a cardiologist who is comfortable working in a solo-practice setting , managing outpatient cardiology patients, supervising stress testing, and providing inpatient consultation services. About the facility The assignment supports an acute care hospital system serving patients in the Northern New York region. The hospital environment includes Adult Trauma Levels III/IV services. The cardiologist will float between two locations: Outpatient cardiology clinic and stress-test supervision: Massena, New York Hospital consult service: Potsdam, New York The provider will work alongside existing clinical staff. An APP currently supporting the outpatient location is expected to leave at the end of September, making cardiology coverage particularly important. The role includes both outpatient and inpatient responsibilities, with additional hospital consult and stress-lab responsibilities discussed with the physician during the interview. Travel expenses reimbursed, including: Mileage Rental car Hotel Flight Malpractice Covered Job Responsibilities The primary focus of the assignment will be: Provide outpatient cardiology clinic coverage approximately 3 days per week . Supervise stress tests approximately 1 day per week . Provide inpatient cardiology consultations and support the stress laboratory. Participate in on-call coverage from 4:00 PM to 8:00 AM , as needed to fill coverage gaps. Read the nuclear portion of stress tests as needed to support other providers who interpret nuclear studies. Nuclear reading capability is preferred but not a deal breaker . Participate in the hospital consult service rotation on an ad hoc basis. Float between the outpatient and hospital locations in Massena and Potsdam, New York . Work collaboratively with the available clinical team while functioning in a primarily solo cardiology practice setting. Discuss the specific outpatient patient population and additional clinical responsibilities with the physician during the interview. Qualifications Board Certified in Cardiology - required New York medical license in hand - required Epic experience - required AHA or RQI certification - required More than 5 years of cardiology experience preferred Ability to work independently in a solo-practice environment Ability to provide outpatient cardiology care and inpatient consultation services Ability to supervise cardiac stress testing Experience with cardiac imaging preferred Board certification/qualification to read cardiac imaging studies preferred Ability to read nuclear stress tests preferred, but not required No malpractice claims preferred If malpractice history is present, whether dismissed or not, a physician statement is required Current and complete work history No unexplained employment gaps of 30 days Willingness to provide required contact information, including email and phone Working Hours Regular Schedule: Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–4:00 PM Standard day shifts Scheduled coverage plus on-call coverage required Coverage Structure: Preference is for 4 weeks of coverage per month . The facility is open to a minimum of 2 weeks per month . If one physician cannot provide the preferred coverage, the facility may consider two locum physicians working opposite schedules , such as 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off . Assignment expected to continue for 6–9 months . The facility anticipates a possible mid-September start for a physician who can be credentialed and privileged quickly, although the listed start date is October 5, 2026 . On-call: 4:00 PM–8:00 AM, as needed to fill coverage holes. Holiday coverage may apply. Observed holidays include: New Year's Day Labor Day Independence Day Memorial Day Thanksgiving Christmas Observed holiday coverage window: 7:00 PM the day before through 7:00 AM the day after .
