Doctor of Medicine | Emergency Medicine Location: Breaux Bridge, LA Employer: Adelphi Locums Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Start Date: ASAP About the Position JOB OVERVIEW Job Id: H-MD- Profession: Physician Specialty: Emergency Medicine Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Breaux Bridge, Louisiana Coverage Period: Aug 01, 2026 – Ongoing Reason for Coverage: Full Time Vacancy Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 52 patients per day Case Mix: Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, Trauma Rounding: Not Included Phone Consults: Yes, as needed FACILITY INFORMATION No. of Beds in Department: 5 ED Beds (25-bed Critical Access Hospital) Trauma Level: N/A (Critical Access Hospital) EMR System: Ochsner EPIC Specialty Backup Available: ICU, Radiology (CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound) Support Staff Available: Standard ED nursing and support staff PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Credentialing Timeline: 60 days Temporary Privileges Available: Yes (with active LA license) REQUIRED PROCEDURES Standard Emergency Medicine procedures (suturing, wound care, intubation, conscious sedation) CT scan interpretation Ultrasound MRI and Nuclear Medicine interpretation (as needed) JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: BC in EM/FM/IM Licenses: Active LA License required (IMLC accepted) DEA / CDS: Active DEA required Certifications: ACLS, ATLS & PALS required for FM/IM candidates Experience: Residency trained in EM, FM, or IM required Other Qualifications: Clean background and compliance with credentialing requirements DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients in a 5-bed ED within a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital. Manage and stabilize acute medical conditions, trauma, and cardiac emergencies. Interpret diagnostic studies including CT scans, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, and Ultrasound.
