This is a hospital-based Emergency Medicine opportunity with a clear focus: night coverage only in a 24/7 Emergency Department seeing approximately 100 patients per day . The hospital offers substantial inpatient, surgical, cardiac, imaging, obstetric, neonatal, and critical-care resources to support physicians managing a broad spectrum of emergency presentations. Opportunity Highlights Emergency Medicine Physician locum tenens Fredericksburg, Virginia Night shifts only Approximately 100 ED patients per day 24/7 hospital-based Emergency Department ABEM certification required ICU and Progressive Care Unit Advanced diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology Cardiac catheterization and interventional cardiac capabilities Broad surgical specialty support Obstetric services Level III NICU Inpatient behavioral health resources Emergency Medicine Practice Environment Physicians will practice within an established medical/surgical hospital with access to the resources needed to support both routine and higher-acuity Emergency Department presentations. Hospital capabilities include: Intensive Care Unit and step-down Progressive Care Unit X-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI, nuclear medicine, and interventional radiology Cardiac catheterization, coronary intervention, electrophysiology, pacemaker, and defibrillator services Orthopedic surgery Spine surgery ENT Urology Vascular surgery Gynecologic surgery Oncology Robotic surgery Obstetric and maternity services Level III neonatal intensive care Inpatient psychiatric and behavioral health services The facility is also an Accredited Chest Pain Center , providing additional infrastructure for the evaluation and treatment of acute cardiac presentations.
